St. Louis Classical Guitar commission to celebrate centennial of women’s suffrage

I am excited to share that I have received a commission from St. Louis Classical Guitar to write a new guitar ensemble work commemorating this year’s US Centennial of Women’s Suffrage! This theme is as important as it’s ever been, and I hope to celebrate the bravery and perseverance of the women that for decades fought for the right to be heard in the political life of this country, as well as to reflect on what kind of actions lead to meaningful social and political changes. We hope that the work will be premiered by St. Louis and Cleveland guitar students at the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Symposium in Cleveland in April 2021, whether virtually or in person! The funding for this project has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
