Unquiet (2025) for cello and guitar

Unquiet for cello and guitar was commissioned by the cello and guitar duo of Kim

Patterson and Patrick Sutton. The title refers to a particular state of mind of being both

restless and determined. I hope that the piece conveys a certain fierce energy!

Composer's Notes

There is a variety of timbral effects throughout the piece, indicated by altered noteheads

or technique explanations (or both). On multiple occasions, the cello part borrows

the guitar techniques of up-and-down strumming and picking.
